Mini Episode: The Power of a Braindump
Today I’m going to tell you about the power of a brain dump.
A few episodes ago, I talked about feeling overwhelmed. Yes, I have two young kids, and yes, I have a lot to do, but usually I’m pretty on top of it. Even when I’m not, I’m not usually this overwhelmed.
My feeling of overwhelm coincided with the rollout of the MotherLoad company this November, and I felt this urge to get it all out of my mind. I realized I hadn’t done one of those global, everything-on-my-mind brain dumps in a long time.
Getting everything out of my head and onto paper feels like this metaphorical cleanse, where I’m able to reset the pressure and add back the items I need to take action on and prioritize.
Here’s how I do my “brain dumps,” plus some tips on how to use them to help manage the ever-growing motherload.
